XO #7039 was founded this year, 29/09/2017, by our robotics teacher, Nahum Naftelman in Youth Village Hadassah Neurim, Beit Yanai, Merkaz, Israel. The team consists of 29 students from 10th, 11th and 12th grade. Most of our people (90%) are a part of NAALE (Youth Immigrates Before Parents). We are new immigrants that come from the former Soviet Union (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Latvia). We live and study in a boarding school without our families. There is no FRC competition in any of our countries, none of us has learned robotics before, so we had to learn it from the beginning. Most of us speak only Russian, which adds another challenge for our team.
In our team we have 8 mentors and 27 students from the 10th, 11th and 12th grades. Everyone has found his calling, where they feel they are need to be. There are 7 groups in our team: mechanics, electronics, programming, drawing, strategy, media and design. Every day students learn something new and improve their abilities.
